An island, a long way off
A low, elongated island with one small peak lies across a broad stretch of water. Grey clouds part around a pale patch of light. Photography by Lu Heng.

The island is a thin shape near the horizon, with one small rise breaking its low outline. Most of the picture belongs to the water in front of it. Long, fine ripples remain visible beneath the pale light.
Clouds gather above and open around a brighter patch of sky. The island offers something definite to look at, but the distance between it and the camera is what gives the view its scale.
