Paper pinwheels in the trees
Rows of coloured paper pinwheels catch the light among dark tree trunks. Photography by Lu Heng.

Red and orange at the top, then pink, yellow, purple and green: the rows run down through the left side of the picture. Each folded pinwheel repeats the same four-part shape.
The dark trunks give those colours a firm background. High on the right, the sun breaks through, lighting the thin paper at its edges and leaving the spaces between the rows open.
