Light inside the rock
A beam of light enters red, curved canyon walls from a bright opening above.

The opening above is bright, but the light reaches only part of the curved rock. Nearby surfaces pass from glowing red to deep shadow. Looking along those edges makes the depth of the narrow space easier to feel.
