A car beneath the tower
A low dark car and a tall curved building share a black-and-white night scene. Photography by Lu Heng.
The car sits low in a wide expanse of paving. A bright lamp rises behind it, while the curved building on the right stretches almost to the top of the frame.
Without colour, the shapes are easier to compare: the rounded roof of the car, the long bands of windows, the narrow poles of the lamps. The space around the car lets the building change the scale of the whole picture.
