A flower in the fold

A single flower tucked into an upright napkin, photographed in black and white by Lu Heng.

A flower is tucked into the folds of an upright napkin. Bright windows and the rest of the room are blurred behind it in black and white.

The napkin rises to a point, its folds wrapping around a single flower. The small petals break up the long lines of the cloth.

Behind it, the room has become broad patches of light and dark. A detail of the table setting takes up almost the whole photograph.
