Buying an IPv4 address: what makes it yours to keep using?
LARUS’s 2023 purchase announcement opens a larger question: how can a network keep using its addresses when the registry’s decisions change?

A network needs room to grow
When a network adds customers or services, it may need more IP addresses: the numbers used to direct Internet traffic. In October 2023, LARUS announced a service for buying IPv4 addresses through the market to support that expansion.
The release describes how operators could obtain addresses and get help with the purchase. It is an announcement issued by LARUS and distributed by EIN Presswire, a record of the service offered at that time.

A purchase needs lasting protection
Buying an address and being able to keep using it are different questions. A registry maintains the records on which other networks rely. What happens to an operating network if that institution withdraws recognition or changes its conditions?
Lu Heng’s later Note 72 proposes rights that put continuity first: accurate records, protection for running networks and the ability to move to another registry without losing resources. The 2023 release concerns obtaining addresses; the Note asks how their continued use can cease to depend on one administrator’s discretion.
