A flame above the stones
A narrow flame rises above rough stones, with pale walls softened behind it. Photography by Lu Heng.

The stones are rough and heavy at the bottom of the picture. Above them, an orange flame makes a thin, irregular line against the pale wall.
The background falls out of focus, but the stone edges stay distinct. Between those solid shapes, the flame is caught in a form that cannot stay still.
