Monkey and Reflection on Glass

A monkey appears beside its softened reflection in a glass panel, turning a close animal portrait into a study of doubled presence and attention.

A monkey's face appears beside its reflection in a glass panel, with green foliage blurred behind it.

A monkey's face meets the glass, producing two images at once. One is direct and sharply defined; the other is paler and softened by reflection. They occupy the same surface, side by side, without fully merging.

Grey and white fur frames the face, and a hand reaches towards the transparent panel. Beyond the glass, foliage disappears into a broad green blur, leaving the animal and its reflected double isolated in the frame.

The mouth is slightly open and the gaze remains steady, creating an expression that may be read as surprise or curiosity. The reflection changes the portrait's mood, making the photograph less about appearance alone than about the strange doubling produced by the barrier.
