Last colour over calm waters

The horizon rests under a soft weight of air. The light, stretched thin, glows like the underside of a closing day. Between the sea and the sky lies a seam of warmth, fragile yet entire. The islands beneath it appear almost imagined — outlines barely holding against the haze.
Each plane of tone deepens toward the centre: the sky dissolving upward into blue, the water darkening into quiet rhythm. The balance between them is precise, so even that it feels unmade. Nothing insists on focus; everything invites stillness.
The photograph is not about what remains visible, but what begins to vanish — how light becomes air, how distance becomes softness. It turns the act of fading into an art of continuation. The world here is no longer changing; it is remembering how to rest.
